If you happen to be an LA local, or even if you’re just someone who follows the scene here, the one trend you’d have noticed over the past decade is the ever-shifting center of the LA art world. Bergamont Station, China Town, and recently Culver City have all held the title. Now it appears that a new potential center is vying for attention. Hollywood, of all places, is one of the new and prominent neighborhoods where the art world likes to hang out, see shows and enjoy impressive spaces belonging to some of the city’s more prestigious, as well as up and coming, galleries. From Regen Projects to the recently arrived Gavlak Gallery, to some of the newer names such as Gusford and Hannah Hoffman, the neighborhood is bustling with art activity. Hoffman, for instance, hosted a fun after-opening party complete with Thai BBQ and something called Coconut Cakes (look them up they’re delicious). The point is, if you have the chance to check out this happening hood then do it!
