Erin Sachse of Eriness Jewelry.
ArtBlitzLA had the chance to catch up with Los Angeles jewelry designer Erin Sachse of Eriness. As a young artist she has drawn from her photography background and her fascination with the beauty and healing properties of natural gemstones. Each Eriness piece embraces precious and semi-precious gems including diamonds, rubies, sapphires, labradorites and smoky quartz with high quality gold and sterling silver.

Tell us about your background. How did you find your way to the jewelry design industry?
Jewelry making has always been a hobby of mine, but I never assumed that my hobby would turn into my own business. I first made a Four Strand daisy chain bracelet for myself and people started commenting. Before I knew it, the buyer from Fred Segal in Los Angeles approached me an asked if I could make some for their store. All of my friends started wearing them and the word began to spread. Within months I was in several stores throughout the country. Believe it or not, it all happened very organically.
How would you describe an “Eriness” piece?
Like a Cinderella story, the perfect Eriness is a transformative experience elevating a woman to feel sexy exquisite and feminine. The perfect piece resonates flawlessly with the personality of its owner. Then, the versatile wear of an Eriness becomes part of your lifestyle — transitioning you from day to night and even add a dash of glamour in the twilight hours.
What themes or ideas have influenced your background designs? They are so unique!
I am influenced by art and beauty and all of the natural elements. I have also always had a simple and clean aesthetic that I carry into my designs. I like to make a subtle statement with each piece as I try to make each daisy chain bracelet unique and special in its own way. I am also inspired by the gemstones themselves as I also find a lot of brilliance in the nature of the stones I use and their distinctive energies.

How did the relationship with Anthropologie come about?
My jewelry is being sold at Nina @ Fred Segal in Santa Monica and the jewelry buyer became the national senior buyer for Anthropologie and brought the Eriness collection to test the market and it has been very successful thus far.
What are some of your future goals and aspirations? Where do you hope to take Eriness in the future?
I am hoping to have the Eriness website up and running by the end of the summer. I am also working on expanding my collection to make more creative pieces. I am working on producing a fine jewelry line featuring simple but elegant 14K pieces with unique diamond arrangements.
Favorite place to eat or drink in Los Angeles?
Hands down my favorite place to eat in Los Angeles is Cha Cha Chicken in the Santa Monica-Venice area. It is a tiny colorful beach shack with the most delicious Caribbean food with the coolest ambiance.
