The CalArts Auction & Benefit LA Preview opened last night at Regen Projects on 633 North Almont Drive in West Hollywood. The show will be open to the public Tuesday – Saturday, 10am – 6pm until March 8th. The LA Preview features works donated by CalArts alumni, faculty, and friends to support the auction with Christies on May 14th. Proceeds from the benefit and auction support the new John Baldessari Studio Building at the Institute as well as scholarships in the School of Art. Organized by Clara Kim, Senior Curator of Visual Arts at the Walker Art Center, the exhibition brings together leading contemporary artists that epitomize the most innovative and visionary works being produced.
