If you’re in LA at all in June there’s no shortage of amazing art to go see, but incase you don’t have time to drive around and explore the whole city, here are five shows not to miss.
ANYA GALLACCIO and MATT JOHNSON | BLUM & POE – As one of LA’s foremost galleries you’d expect nothing less from Blum & Poe. The two shows compliment each other remarkably well and you’ll be sure to get lots of likes on your instagram.
MADE IN LA 2014 – The Hammer Museum Hosts the 2014 edition of Made in LA, the iconic biennial. It debuts new work in all media by some of Los Angeles’ best up and coming artists.
ANIMAl CHARM | CHINA ART OBJECTS – If you thought you ever might like multi media installation art you can’t miss this.
GABRIEL KURI | REGEN PROJECTS – Kuri’s new show presets a series of new sculptures composed of consumer materials and found elements that touch upon the relationship of value and exchange in contemporary global society.
CHRISTINE WANG | NIGHT GALLERY – Never one to shy away from such subjects, Night Gallery presents new works by Christine Wang exploring the relationship of geo-political ideologies in areas of conflict. The work examines both the positive and negative aspects of globalization and urban development. The show tries to do, grapple with the self- in-relation-to-world conundrum in a visually compelling way that gets at what it feels like to have too many contradictory sensations acting on you at once.
